💳 Accounts & Groups

Create and organise your accounts, and see your net worth.

The Accounts tab

Accounts are shown inside groups. At the top you see Net Worth, Assets and Liabilities. Each account shows its balance. Credit cards also show their status in a coloured line: Overdue (red), Due or Upcoming; loans show what is due this month.

Add an account

  1. Open the Accounts tab and tap + (Add Account).
  2. Choose the account type (see Account types).
  3. Enter the name, group, currency and opening balance. Extra fields appear depending on the type (for example credit limit, EMI, target amount).
  4. Tap Save.

Note

The opening balance you enter is recorded as a first income (or expense) transaction dated today, so it shows up in the account’s Ledger. For a loan, the opening debt is worked out from the EMI and the number of EMIs still to pay.

Note

The free version allows up to 10 accounts. Deleted accounts still count toward the limit until you delete them forever from Deleted Accounts. Premium (or a referral unlock) removes the limit. See Premium & Rewards.

Account details

Tap an account to open it. Most accounts have Ledger and Stats; these account types also have a Dashboard tab: Credit Card, Bill, Goal, SIP, Recurring Deposit and Insurance. Other types (Cash, Bank, Debit Card, Loan, etc.) open directly on the Ledger.

Close, reopen and delete

Note

Nothing is deleted behind your back. If something is still in use, Casviz tells you and lets you decide.

Account groups

Go to Settings → Account Groups to add, rename, reorder or delete groups. The default group cannot be deleted, and a group must be completely empty before it can be deleted – active, closed and deleted accounts all count. Move them to another group, or delete them forever first. Deleted groups can be restored from Settings → Deleted Account Groups.
