Assets and liabilities

On the Accounts tab, Assets are the accounts with a positive balance and Liabilities are those with a negative balance (for example a credit card you owe money on, or a loan). Net Worth = Assets + Liabilities (liabilities are negative). Accounts marked Exclude from totals or Hidden are left out.

Upcoming, Due, Paid and Overdue

Credit cards, bills and SIP / Insurance / Recurring Deposit accounts all use the same four words:

StatusMeaning
UpcomingStill building up (the current cycle is open) or the due date has not arrived yet.
DueThe statement or installment has been generated, it is unpaid, and its due date has not passed.
PaidSettled. Payments are applied to the oldest unpaid amount first and are never counted twice.
OverdueThe due date has passed and it is still unpaid (shown in red, with “Was due <date>”).
